Recordings playback in HTML

With Adobe Connect 10.6, users can now watch HTML versions of Adobe Connect recordings in an web browser on most platforms and try a new ‘beta’ HTML viewer for mobile browsers.

Benefits of HTML-based recordings include:

۱. Recordings retain the interactive features of Adobe Connect meetings. While watching a recording, users can scroll through and copy text from Notes, Chat, or Q&A. Viewers can download a file from a Files pod, or click links in Chat, Q&A, Web Links, and on slides. Share pods can be made fullscreen for optimal viewing. Quizzes and other interactive content created in authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Adobe Presenter also retain their interactivity – enabling a user to participate in a quiz even if watching a recorded version of the session.

۲. HTML recordings are now more accessible. HTML recordings show the content in the same way it was shown during the live meeting. Users can navigate the meeting interface, and the text in Chat, Notes, Q&A, and even PDF documents can be read by a screen reader – even when watching the recording.

۳. Existing recordings created with Adobe Connect 9 or higher will also be available through the HTML viewer.

Miscellaneous improvements and changes

· Users joining through HTML client on mobile (beta) now have an option to make individual pods fullscreen (except notes pod). · Keyboard shortcuts for HTML clients have further enhanced. · Tomcat version upgraded to 9.0.22. · JRE version upgraded to 1.8.0_221. · A host of fixes to known issues in HTML client.

۱) What would be the behavior for legacy recordings created with 9.x versions : · Legacy recordings created with 9.x versions should be able to play in HTML client with 10.6 upgrade, provided if HTML flag is enabled at account level. · Here are some documents which describe how to enable HTML flag in the meeting room and at account level

۲) What would be the behavior for previous recordings created with 10.x versions upto 10.5 : · Previous recordings created with 10.x versions should be able to play in HTML client with the upgrade, provided if HTML flag is enabled at account level.

۳) What would be the behavior for new recordings created after 10.6 upgrade : · After upgrade to 10.6 you should be able to play all recordings if HTML flag is enabled at Account level. · It doesn’t matter if HTML flag was enabled during recording of meeting or not.

۴) Is there any special setting required for the recording to play in HTML client with 10.6 upgrade ? · To play recordings in HTML client you need to have HTML flag enabled at Account level.

۵) Any new recordings that will be created fresh after 10.6 upgrade, necessarily need to have HTML client enabled in the respective meeting room for the recording to be visible in the html client later on ? · No, the HTML flag can be enabled later on as well.

۶) Will recordings made with 10.6 be playable on mobile app ? · There is a new ‘Beta’ version of HTML viewer for mobile browsers with 10.6 update, which the customers can try to view the recording on a mobile device.

۷) What if I move the recording to Content library, how can I know if recording will play in HTML (is on/off), and how to turn it on/off? ? · From Content library, the HTML player will be default, you can toggle it with the ?htmlview={true/false} flag.
